Specialist Risk Assessments

Personal Care Consultants can offer a risk assessment service for organisations who find that it is necessary to carry out tasks that place people at potential risk of hazard, injury or harm.  The risk assessment process is designed to identify potential risks of injury, and using a problem solving approach, provide practical actions and solutions that protect people from those risks.

Personal Care Consultants has recently completed a risk assessment project on behalf of a North West Housing Association.  Essential lift replacement work was scheduled in a high rise block of flats.  As many of the tenants were elderly and/or disabled temporary alternative accommodation was offered whilst the work was due to be carried out, however, this was declined by a large number of tenants who opted to stay in their homes despite being unable to get down the stairs and out of the building during the lift replacement.  The Housing Association recognised its legal responsibilities under current government legislation and commissioned Personal Care Consultants to carry out a detailed and independent risk assessment with each tenant involved.  Our highly experienced risk assessors were able to highlight what potential risks the tenants were at.  They were then able to provide practical, reasonable and realistic solutions in order to reduce the risks to the lowest level reasonable practicable.
