| The Merchant's House |
The
Merchant’s House provides a specialist residential care service for six
people with learning disabilities, complex needs, and behaviours that have
traditionally challenged services, The environment enables this support to
be provided in a manner that respects service users as individuals.
The service is designed to provide structured enablement programmes
for people whose care and support demands a high level of staffing and
resources.
Support is aimed at reducing reliance on physical and staffing
controls, and promoting development through skilled interventions led by
clinical psychologists. This enables service users to develop their
independence and move to less intensive support services, returning to
their home area where appropriate. |
| Oakmere House |
 Oakmere
House is
a specialist autism sensitive residential care service for nine people
who, in addition to their autism spectrum disorder, have a range of
complex needs. It has been our
intention to create at Oakmere an 'autism friendly' environment; one which
limits the potential for sensory overload
but is also robust, respectful and homely.
The
physical environment provides spacious accommodation across two floors for
nine individuals; there is also a large garden.
Individual suites are located on both the ground and first floors
and grouped in such a way as to limit the number of suites in any one area
to two. Communal living areas
are provided on both the ground and first floors and there is a large
shared dining room and conservatory at ground floor level. This
configuration, along with a minimum staffing level of 9:9, enables us to
provide nine separate support packages under one roof.

| Domiciliary Care |
| The
services are based upon rehabilitative principles aimed at supporting
people in their own homes or as tenants of their own property. Our
domiciliary care division has gone from strength to strength based on a
model of facilitation where the service users personal growth and
development are fully encouraged. With individual activity programmes
social inclusion is promoted in a safe and supportive environment by
highly trained and competent staff.
